Background - Jeremy Schoemaker’s About Page

Back in 1980, Jeremy’s mom purchased him his first Apple computer and he started messing with it by creating simple programs. For example, he wanted to thank his mom so much that he created a program that would repeat a “My mom is cool” message.

In 1995, Jeremy was offered a job at an ISP in Moline, IL. Of course like many of us when we’re young (not saying you’re old :P), we won’t really do much “job work” at our workplaces, but instead we would play games. This is exactly what Jeremy was doing and it was mainly because he did not understand Linux at the time.

Jeremy eventually left this ISP and focused on opening his first business ever by coding Macintosh gaming sites. Well as most of you pictured already, Jeremy slowly fell away from his college degree and focused more on his talents. His first business started to pay off ad advertisers from all around started to contact him about advertising.

Then as most of you now know, Jeremy started the ShoeMoney Media Group (aka ShoeMoney) , which was not started without help. Without his wife’s stable income as a physician, we won’t be seeing Shoemoney.com as it is today.

The ShoeMoney Philosophy and Business Model

I must say that all bloggers or anyone trying to start a business to focus on Jeremy’s statement. If you follow his following tips, it would be much easier to be successful.

  1. Embrace new trends and look for opportunities to exploit them. For example, SMG entered the ring tone market early, captured traffic and has monetized it. Finding angles and exploiting them for profit is a key aspect of SMG. Maximum and diverse revenue streams are built on fairly narrow marketing concepts that are then diversified. This is what Jeremy Schoemaker calls, “The Coke Theory. If you are already making Coke then you can make Diet Coke, Cherry Coke, etc and turn a profit on those as well. A company can achieve growth through small degrees of separation between sites, maximizing diversity within a small industry.
  2. Focus on what you know. From the beginning of SMG, Schoemaker focused on the aspects of marketing that were second nature to him. He built his sites on those natural marketing principles while running the backend. Web design was a secondary skill, so he focused on the marketing of the sites, which then built revenue. Later he would invest in a professionally done design. Schoemaker continues to focus on existing sites and expand their income potential by building a network of sites centered on a central theme. Again, the “Coke Theory.
  3. Small changes can equal big revenue.Once a base of traffic and revenue is built, don’t be afraid to experiment with the site. Once the traffic is there, small changes in design and structure can make big changes in revenue. Ad placement, recurring subscriptions and affiliate marketing can ad value to a site without disrupting the base of revenue. Monitor revenue daily, even hourly to see how your changes have affected revenue. If it’s not working, you can always go back to the way it was.

What makes Shoemoney.com any different from other blogs?

Until this day, Jeremy still focuses on great content to provide to Internet viewers. His main concern is helping people through marketing and making money online to pay bills. By the view of his RSS count shoemoney rss, you can tell Jeremy isn’t a huge “big gun” on the blogosphere, but he certainly knows what he is talking about.

I certainly love to read his posts daily not because I want to comment on his posts and gain backlinks, but I want to educate myself with what’s new out there in the blogosphere. I would say he can compare to John Chow, because Jeremy is just as evil as John in many ways. There was a recent Niche Store creation and guess who made it? That’s right, the ShoeMoney, but he doesn’t want to focus on making money on it. Instead he reviews and educates readers on how to follow his footsteps. Making huge sums of money online is just what they do and they don’t seem to be stopping any time soon.

shoemoney avatarTo get to my point quick, ShoeMoney is just the blog to actually learn how to make a huge sum of $$$ on the net. I mean there are off-topic posts, but who doesn’t go off-topic once in a while. He even created his own little avatar, the ShoeMoney baldie.

If you haven’t subscribed to his RSS yet, make sure you do so. (HA! Like if anyone haven’t yet)

Great Online Shopping Experiences Is A Must

christmas blog

Christmas is just around the corner and I’m sure many of you will not be doing your shopping any time soon. The reason I say that is because a lot of shoppers don’t show for Christmas items until the very last day of the “12 Days of Christmas.” Well that’s where the Internet and computers come in. They have both come a long way since it was invented and now all of us use these two items.

blog shop

If shopping for clothes is what you’re going to do for Christmas shopping, I suggest heading over to Tobi. This online shopping boutique is just amazing and up to “tech” if you know what I mean. The boutique does not only provide clothing, but also clothing accessories, beauty supplies, and music. Tobi also provides their own online stylist to help with the latest fashions. I don’t know about you, but I would say this type of customer service is way out there. They also have a blog that keeps viewers updated with daily fashion on the streets, a.k.a the style scout.

christmas clothes

Anyways, I went to give Tobi a try and I noticed that there is a huge variety of brands and different types of clothing. One thing that stumped me was their “nudie jeans.” I never heard of a nudie jean, so I went to do a research and found out that it is a brand name. The jeans don’t look half bad, but the price seems kind of steep for my tastes. i ended up doing some more searches on the boutique and I found a brand that I’ve heard of. “Seven For All Mankind” is the brand of jeans a good buddy of mine wears. He recently mentioned how good these jeans are and that the price is very well worth it if a person is looking for quality and durability.

Although the price is steep for me, it doesn’t mean my fellow readers can’t purchase these. Tobi provides the best brands when it comes to clothing and accessories. These aren’t brands for a typical average person, but it could be for the one you love.

If you’re looking to purchase items for a male, Tobi has it all, but if you’re looking to purchase items for a female, Tobi also provides it. Make sure you take a look at their boutique and purchase the best branded clothing for Christmas gifts. Not to mention, Tobi provides free shipping and easy returns.

Are You A Blogger In Need Of Some Loans?

blog loans

There are many bloggers that want to earn a living from blogging and I must say that many are very successful in doing their part. The smaller bloggers on the other hand do not receive as much attention as they wish they would, but some already quit their job committing their time to blogging. Therefore, some bloggers might end up needing some cash advance or loans to pay off certain items and maybe blog hosting?

Bad Credit Loans is one of those websites that use reviews from participants to rate cash advance or loan websites. It seems like these days a lot of people are in debit somehow or someway, so receiving trusted cash advances or loans should be a matter to consider. I mean take a look at the United States’ national debt…maybe Bush should consider checking out Bad Credit Offers for some money.

From the look of reviews for the cash advance or loan sites, it seems like there haven’t been much buzz on this section of Bad Credit Loans yet. Now I can’t guarantee anything on the websites, but I can say that Bad Credit Loans had reviewed their own group of cash advance or loan sites to come up with the list.

To end this review, I will say that anyone should check out the website when planning to apply for a loan or cash advance online. Some of you bloggers that had quit your day-time job looking for a quick buck blogging should really consider this site. Don’t end up in debt though.

If you have bad credit, you will be able to check out this site with no problem and it is known as “bad credit loans”. There are always chances for people that have messed up in the past.

Cyber Monday, Get Your Deals On!

cyber monday sale

I’m sure many of you attended the Black Friday sales at local retailers or online, but many of you do not know about Cyber Monday. Well to sum things up quick, it is basically a sale that takes place online on the monday after the Black Friday sales.

Now I must tell you that Cyber Monday is not as big as Black Friday, but there are some decent sales here and there. The products are mainly electronics, but it is the last time for you to save some money for Christmas. After today, the prices won’t drop anymore and retailers might sell items at higher prices due to demand for Christmas presents.

Even the evil Google has joined in for the fun by making a post on their blog. They mentioned that there have been more and more online retailers that are using Google Checkout now, which results in new members receiving a $10 off $30 bonus (I took advantage of their old $10 off $10 promo many times). Make sure you check their list of participating retailers before you purchase anything. You might be saving more than you think.

Many blogs have been posting about Cyber Monday, but I don’t think any have actually posted links to these sales. Although there is a Cyber Monday theme song, I’m going to do the honor by posting retailer sales below, so you guys can purchase your items for Christmas gifts. I mean, some people even say that Cyber Monday might be the new Black Friday.

  • Paypal - 20% Cashback on all participating retailers up to $50 or $250 spent on total purchases. Valid until 12/10/07 and cashback will post to paypal account by 1/31/08. I took advantage of their old promotion of $10 off $50 and I received the cashback as said.

There you go, that is the list as of 11:45PM PST of 11/25. I’m pretty sure there won’t be any more retailers to add to that list, but I will update it if there is any. Internet is the future and these sales are going to be better and better.

Enjoy, my fellow viewers :)

John Chow Rambles, Why Can’t We?

blog rambling

There are bloggers that love to make money by posting valued content and there are some that just publish posts for fun. Publishing fun posts are usually considered a person’s ramblings because there isn’t much in mind, but the information in that particular post.

What is the exact meaning of Rambling?

  • Definition: to talk or write in a discursive, aimless way

Rambling is simply a way for a blogger to express his or her mind, but it is made into a post for all to see and understand. If you can see on my blog, I ramble every other day of the week to keep readers entertained. Rambling brings up any category of the blogging world into a post, but not all rambling posts are successful.

How can I ramble successfully?

A rambling post doesn’t mean you can just blog about anything and type clueless information. The content must include some type of value and information that attracts the reader. If you take a look at my rambling posts here, you can tell that I provide detailed information to the reader and not something like, “I’m tired today” or something similar.

Why doesn’t any one like my rambling posts?

Well, here’s a point where I can’t really help you at. Certain blogs tend to blog ramblings a least once a week, but receives soooo much comments and controversies when a smaller blog receives nothing. What readers don’t understand is smaller less fortunate blogs also provide great information, but it is usually missed due to lack of ranking.

What is the point?

As a blogger, just remember that if you want to be successful, you must provide content, but once you hit it big, it won’t matter what kind of crap you post about. Just because some of us blog, doesn’t mean we’re a ProBlogger, Shoemoney, or John Chow.
