Blogging as a platform is easy to use and even easier to learn. There are some generally accepted practices to blogging, which have been covered here and on other sites, but overall blogging provides the freedom to communicate your thoughts to the world.

Monetizing your blog is a great first step to ensuring that your thoughts and time have value. Whether you work with affiliate advertising, use Google Adwords, or some other mechanism to make money, it’s important that we feel that our work is valued, and with increased traffic, it’s hard not to make money.

I stated in previous posts both here and on The Daily Slackr, that blogs are extremely versatile and probably the most versatile of the blogging types. Using a free blogging tool like Wordpress or Blogger is helpful for those entering into the blogosphere, and provide an easy “in” for even the most basic of newcomers. Still, for those more advanced, blogging can be a tool that is fully customizable to suit the needs of the writer. No matter where you stand on the scale, a blog can become drab and perhaps dull for the reader.

For bloggers, nothing says success more than readers, and readers are drawn to bloggers that have valid and relevant information. This relationship can be hard to maintain and sometimes feel like a tug of war on certain days. Still, a blogger that allows themselves to lose the fight will find themselves alone, their message not getting to a single person except for the occasional web surfer that might find their site.
