Wohh!.

500$ is too much for advertising.Even though the investment is worth getting lots of traffic,I cannot afford it!.

And yes,It’s definitely a nice idea to share the cost between your friends!!.Rather you should make a group of 3,so you get the ads showing up for 10 days with little extra cost!.

Good suggestion, $125 is certainly much more affordable than $500. Maybe we can estimate how much click through rates on a 125×125 on JohnChow by asking people who has advertised on his entrecard before? How many clicks do you get when you advertise on ProBlogger or JohnChow’s entrecard?

yeah everyone can only go as high as they can afford. While advertisement on those blogs are really worth it, you can also get to know people at the conferences and make networks. I see that these big people link to each other alot also.

great article my friend.
But let’s play devil’s advocate for a minute and look at why the big bloggers might NOT go for something like this. First off, it cheapens the value of the ads for individual advertisers that are paying the high dollar amount for the full advertising they are expecting. If just anyone can gather 10, 20, or 100 other people to “sell shares” of the advertising, then in theory it is no longer a $500 ad. The ad is no longer $500 for 30 days exposure. If split between 4 people it’s real market value is now 1/4th of the $500. It IS a $500 for 1 month ad. But if it was slit to become a $125 ad for 1/4th of a month, then it would no longer be worth $500. A little confusing, but basic advertising economics.
Next, who in the world would ever want to deal with having 4, 5, or 10 people sharing an ad, especially when you just don’t have to. Your site has the proven traffic and you can justify the high dollar ad rates.
All that being said…it is a great problem to have, lol

I was thinking of buying advertising space on John Chow about a month ago. And yes, the prices are CRAZY! I means I know it’s popular but man, $1000/month is crazy for that! But I might start a site up with some friends and buy advertising. IT is definately worth it if you’re headed in the right direction.
