There comes a time when a person starts earning some sort of income, he or she should give back. Giving back to others not only makes the person feel better, but it is also helping a cause such as helping poverty in certain areas in the world.
What happens when giving to the people that needs it became a lot easier?
I recently watched the Channel 2 CBS News and I was amazed at a site called “FREE RICE”. Well, if you guys watch the news, you would probably know that during the commercials, they would try to show a little snippet of the news. It certainly got my attention and I sure didn’t slap myself in the face after watching it.
That’s exactly right, the image right above this text is exactly what FreeRice.com does. By simply playing the site’s word game, a person already making a donation. I gave the site a try and I simply got addicted to it. The word game basically shows a word and lists up to 4 choices. You must then choose the correct definition of the word, which would give 10 grains of rice through the United Nations to end world hunger.
Most of us bloggers seem to always take in money, but we rarely give back. There are only a selected few, John Chow, that donates their hard earned money to charities, but there simply isn’t enough to end world hunger. As you can tell, with a little help from everyone around the world, there is about 212million grains of rice donated EACH DAY!
FreeRice.com’s 2 Goals:
- Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
- Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
Since the opening of FreeRice.com on October 7, 2007, There have been 2.84 BILLION grains of rice donated.
