Today’s review of Political Disgust must come with a warning: BEWARE – The ideas and thoughts shared on this site are bound to make you angry, make you laugh, make you cry, and perhaps punch a hole in your monitor, so strap yourself in and enjoy this no nonsense approach to what is happening in our world. Okay, warning complete.
Political Disgust is hands down one of the more refreshing sites that I have come across in a long time. Fox News and their shows claim that they are the No Spin Zone, but some of the topics covered here and the opinions attached to them are blunt, in your face, and whether you like them or not, make you think. The buck literally stops at Political Disgust, and one man’s opinions and life are bared for the world to read.
The site is uncomplicated with easy to navigate selections. On first opening the site I found myself reading the rotating quotes at the top right of the page for several minutes. All of them profound, all of them true. That alone warrants a nod because it really sets you up for what to expect on the site. The site’s author is just a regular guy in life working, paying bills, and enjoying what he can in the day to day. Like us he hears, reads, witnesses, and feels things about events in our world that he just can’t keep quiet about. The difference between us and him, is that he’s taken to the web to share these thoughts, and his “About” page aptly warns us all that we don’t have to agree with anything he says, but his insightful commentary is hard to ignore.
The Reason
The author clearly states that he is not a “donkey or an elephant” and even negates his activity in the independent circuit. The bottom line for him is that politics sucks and as an individual he’s commenting on all thebullsh*t that we see and hear.
He briefly shares his beliefs, and the point is not to stand with or against him, but he clearly becomes transparent for us so as to better understand his writings. I commend him on this transparency, and through his writings he transcends from just an “angry guy” to a man with a voice. What I find most compelling is that he does not lose sight of the human side of a blog. Amidst the posts where he rants and raves against politics, you’ll find posts about his family and life happenings weaved in. In my opinion this keeps us grounded to the fact that this guy could be our neighbor, our co-worker, or the guy at football game. This constant reminder of his humanity keeps me interested in what he has to say.
The Meat
It’s amazing how approachable his topics are. I typically steer clear from articles on politics or other related topics only because there is always a slant from the writer. For some it’s hard to notice, but for more well versed readers, the style it is written is a clear give away on the person’s take. The author of Political Disgust does not mince words, and has an easy and approachable style that makes you want to read more. I’d almost say his style of writing is conversational. I can see myself sitting at a bar with him while he tells me his take on life in general and how pissed off he is about this and that.
The articles from the first load page are interesting. The first article lists some of his favorite political movies, which I happen to agree a lot with. Further down he discusses the debate from this past week, and even further down he supports The Golden Girls for president. The humor is hard to miss, but it’s evident from reading the posts that the author is tapped into pop culture, entertainment, and various forms of media. Posts don’t just deal with direct politics and upcoming elections, but also dabble into events that have effected this nation that in a way will be touched by politics. The state of mortgage companies, hurricane response and relief, Social Security, just to name a few.
Definitely give this site a look if you’re looking for something that goes against the grain, but in a good way. Just remember, this ain’t CNN folks, so don’t expect 5 star caliber reporting. This is a blog, where a man share this thoughts, and you can decide whether to be engaged or not. You make the call!

I am honored that you took the time to review my blog. It is an ongoing labor or love AND disgust and something I love being part of. What really amazes me is that you actually took the time to read a lot of the articles. Thank you for that.
The site gives me a chance to literally voice my opinion on everything and just write. I NEVER wanted it to be just a boring angry politics forum, but somewhere where I could discuss both the political issues and the real stuff that happens in my sometimes crazy life.
Thanks again for the review. I am humbled and honored.

My last blog post is..Letterman unloads on McCain for not showing up
I have known the author of PD for a little while now and i can tell you from personal experience that he is truly about what he writes for. This is not a person who writes hype to get your attention, it is actually the way he believes and thinks. I would definitely suggest his site.
My last blog post is..Prelude to the World Series
Good site on the politics in US. David Letterman’s dripping sarcasm at McCain’s no-show definitely got my attention.
My last blog post is..Seven Deadly Sins of Investing – Part I
Awesome review…. The thing I love about the net is the ability to come across people’s REAL views and not be guarded from each other….. like FOX and the Murdoch owned crap does!
My last blog post is..Cheap Healthy Recipes – Wholemeal Curry Tortillas
