Thanks for visiting Bloggin-Ads. We're currently having a huge contest giving away 2 MacBook Airs + $1,000.

Just this past summer in 2007 until now, us bloggers were able to experience a lot of new marketing and advertising sites that involves the blogosphere. These sites start from charging people for some type of access to being totally free. I’m sure most of us bloggers know what these sites do too and I’m not talking about small sites trying to offer some type of marketing or advertising technique. Social bookmarking sites surely do give a slight increase in traffic to certain posts or blogs, but only a bit to send a little nudge on the Alexa spikes. When it comes to talking about Graham Langdon, I’m sure it would ring a bell because he’s the one that provides both of these services with his two creations, but instead of working on both, he’s leaving one in the dust.
The sites I’m talking about are his first creation with Million Dollar Wiki, a service to purchase a page, and his second with Entrecard, an online business card. These two sites are very huge creations by Graham and I do admit that he is one smart college student with huge potential in making money through online business entrepreneurship. Anyways, I’m going to begin the main portion of the post with Entrecard and Million Dollar Wiki at the end.
Entrecard…WHAT?
Throughout the blogosphere, there are people trying to make money somehow and someway. Just this past year, 2007, I realized that 125×125 ad blocks were the new “THING” and every blog started having them and offering some type of advertisement plan. Ad spots used to be half the size, but it seems like with the help of big bloggers out there, 125×125 ads stayed no matter how much they are.
With that said, Entrecard is taking advantage of this sized ad block, but using it to create a free exchange network. To sum things up quickly so I can get on with this post, Entrecard basically allows you to advertise a 125×125 ad through the Entrecard widget on all blogs that run the same widget for exactly 24 hours. This is actually a great opportunity to take advantage of a spot on a blog like John Chow or Darren Rowse. Of course there is never anything that is free, but Entrecard uses their credit system, which is technically still free.
Personal Experience
Because I joined Entrecard and took advantage of their services when they first launched, I was able to give a slight “ramp” to my blog, which ended great because I used the moment to post some great content. As time gone by, I realized that more and more users started joining, but because I started early, I was able to show my “face” to others and therefore receive more card drops.
Below are my Entrecard stats and this is the first time I’ve shown it to anyone:
Just from looking at my stats above you’ll notice that I’ve gained a whole lot of traffic from Entrecard and that is great, but I’m not the only one having success because there are many others that are too. I would also like to point out that John Chow and ProBlogger actully don’t give as much viewers as I would’ve thought because I’ve been testing blogs to see which one provides a better outcome, but John and Darren are not first. I’m sure you want me to post out my findings, but I will not do that because you’ll have to find out yourself or wait until I post it.
If you would like to advertise on my site, you could check out my Entrecard page here.
Entrecard’s Rise - True or False?
Many of you have been using Entrecard and I’m sure you guys are liking the system. I for one have been using Entrecard since the launch in the beginning of November, which was the same time Bloggin-Ads started. Below you should be able to see the huge success and stir that this creation has brought towards the viewers:

As you can see above, most of us bloggers won’t even be able to reach that type of ranking especially the ranking that Entrecard currently holds, which is 6,261 and rising.
With so much users and viewers, one must think how Entrecard is going to work when it comes to money. As I’m typing this post, Entrecard has already implemented some ads, but as I’ve posted in the forums here, I found that there were “PORN” *GASP*! It seems like Graham is starting to make some money off AdBrite ads, which pays pretty decent.
Now here’s the part I want you guys to think about. Will Entrecard actually provide the same type of service it is providing now in the future or will we see Entrecard fall just like BlogRush? If you haven’t already noticed, Entrecard and Blogrush both use a credit type system, which gives the user credits depending on how much clicks there are or in this case, card drops.
Only time will tell what Entrecard will bring forward to us and by then I’m hoping that it’ll still provide me the great traffic I’m receiving now.
Since this post was published so late, I decided to make this into a 2 part post, so make sure you see the fall of Million Dollar Wiki on Thursday, 1/10/2008 (date changed)!

Well, the way I see it, Entrecard is here to stay, provided that it stays free forever.
I am guessing that, in the future, folks would be able to purchase Entrecard Credits (ec) using cold hard cash.
The traditional way of earning Entrecard Credits (ec) would remain. I reckon.

Interesting stats. I’m not using Entrecard yet, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
It doesn’t sound like it’s going to go the way of Blogrush. Nobody appeared to be doing well from Blogrush right from the start. It was hyped out of all proportion.
By the way - it is just me, but on every blog I’m visiting today - the Alexa stats have disappeared?

Yea, I guess Entrecard is going to be worth something in the future, but who knows what will happen. They might end up like Blogrush, but we still won’t know.
I’ve gotten a lot of traffic from entre card, but the average time on site is only like 4 seconds and a 94% bounce rate.
I’m willing to give it a 3 month trial on my blog, but right now it’s not looking like much more than a way to bring empty traffic and eat up bandwidth.

Aye, the majority of the traffic is kinda like crap traffic as most of the folks are just quick droppers looking to earn some fast Entrecard Credits (ec) but if they keep on doing that alone, they would not get very far.
On the other hand, those who genuinely network with other fellow Entrecarders sincerely, would definitely rise to the top, and make a lot of new friends in the process!
I am gonna bet 1,000 Entrecard Credits (ec) that Entrecard is here to stay, and it will become the next big thing since Google came into existence.
[I only bet 1,000 Entrecard Credits (ec) because that is all I have at the moment. :p]
So who is up for a bet?

I had the BlogRush widget up for ages and basically got zip off it. I’ve had the Entrecard widget up since close to it’s inception, and I’ve gained 50 Technorati Favorites, and gotten 20 more subscribers, which is phenomenal for my itty bitty blog. I’ve also shot up Alexa, although Google continues to ignore me like the pipsqueak I am. I really like Entrecard and plan to keep it, but BlogRush is in the round file.
Cathrine ~ My Alexia toolbar is still showing rank, but the pages aren’t. I think it’s because there is an update going on, as my own blog has jumped up some (according to the toolbar anyway!).

Like anything else, Entrecard will expand then Entrecard will contract. The health of such organisms often depends on how well they start out of the gate. So far, there is only positive and no negative. Even the posts about it providing “junk traffic” are not compelling because those with any proclivity towards thinking outside the box still sense a tremendous potential - and, for many, this is the most traffic they have ever seen in their life.
Many new bloggers are getting to feel as if they are part of a much bigger community and that cannot be underestimated.
Stats are great but emotion supercedes logic every time.
