Sometimes more. I love movies, but the cheap theaters keep closing, and the price of tickets continues to rise. We've been hit with a sharp incline in pricing in recent years which parallels the normalization of the fuel market. Groceries, fast food, even movie rentals seem to have increase in price. Does this mean I watch less movies. You bet. Unfortunately, that is the case. Unlike many of you out there, including the author here, who is a self-proclaimed intellectual copyright pirate, I would no sooner pirate someone's hard work than I would syndicate the articles on this site without permission. I understand the argument against high prices, but the reason prices continue to climb is in direct proportion to the ease of piracy. If we want to keep our supply of movies coming, and we don't want things like the writer's strike to affect our entertainment, then we better be willing to compensate those who are hard at work to bring us the material. I'll pay for a blockbuster on occasion, but the low cost of home theater equipment makes it much more enjoyable to stay at home for a fraction of the cost while still honoring the artists' intellectual copyrights.
