Mike,

It’s funny because I wrote a post a few days ago about why people should type their posts into a Word document BEFORE posting lol!

But I “try” to proofread as much as I can but it all depends on which blog and if I’m in a hurry. On DatMoney, since it’s more of a business type blog then I would say yes. If you don’t proofread on a business type blog then I’m not sure how people will take you seriously.

Yes, we need to proof read our post but if it is a short post, you normally don’t bother to proof read your post. I do my proof read to improve my writing because English is my third language.

English is also a second language to me. but i think I can write/express it better in english than Filipino (the Philippines’ national language which is mostly Tagalog-based).

Profreading is essential but it does not have to be perfect as we are limited by what we know. If one has money, he can always hire an editor.

I go back and check it out but mostly looking for typing errors not so much to proofread it but I guess its the same huh? I really never thought about it till I read your posts about this topic. I myself am HIspanic and english also is second language but I have always been able to relate to other people who spoke english without problems and I feel I can relate to them in my posts as well altho I will admit Im not good at plcing the comma, and periods in all the right places and there or is it thier?? anyway Im not good with these type of words either but I still feel I come across with what I want to say to my readers and Im always open for their comments which in them they can give me constructive critisim if they wish to do so for I always tell them to be sure and leave their comments and speak their minds and tell it like it is.. I do want to say this to you I have read your posts and for engish being your second language you write awfully good and better then those blogs who earn the big bucks and say nothing and use two dollar words you do much better I classifiy you as using ten dollar words in your post and everything you write about is perfectly understandable and very well worded in good english. I give you a thumbs up. Keep up your good work.

I spend my time re-reading it once or twice. Unfortunately most of the time it’ll go up with a few edits still needing to be made.

I proofread as I write and also before I publish my posts. It is a writer’s responsibility to himself and to the community that reads his articles.

A person’s habit of not proofreading is a reflection of the person’s lifestyle. It shows how much a person respects himself and how the person values his work.

I don’t deliberately proofread my posts, but before pressing the publish button, I will scroll through the post, give a glance or two, hoping to catch any obvious spelling mistakes and bad sentence structures.

We have all heard before about the beauty of a first draft, where one will be able to express oneself creatively and expressively in their first draft writing. If you are too critical about what you wrote, you will end up altering a large chunk of your posts, which will produce something very different from what you were feeling and wanting to write originally. So, just do enough of proofreading, don’t be too critical, anything excessive is bad

It is good to proofread,but no matter how many times i do it
i still notice some mistakes after posting.I don’t take it to heart if the blogger is from non English speaking country
the content of the site is more important to me.
