John Chow Is NOT Evil

panda killer

Have you ever mistaken someone for something they’re not? I’m pretty sure you have because that is how life on planet Earth is. All of us tend to judge books by their covers and if you say you don’t, you would be lying. If you have ever been to a library, you would most likely check out a book, but I’m sure you would check out something that has a pleasing cover. The material in the book you choose is probably completely different from what you previously thought about it by looking at its cover. This is exactly how we judge people in the community, which include friends and families.

The person I’m talking about is John Chow. I mention John in this article because he’s a celebrity in the blogosphere and celebrities tend to always have shit talkers. Most of us have never met John, talked to him on the phone, or know his personal life, but some of us are talking crap about him when he’s doing nothing wrong but making money online :-)

We’re All Wrong

Besides all the people on the John Chow bandwagon (John Chow lovers), there are some that form their own “HATE ON JOHN CHOW” groups, which also includes me. Well, we’re all wrong about John because he is actually a really great money maker. We all know him as the man that beat Shoemoney in a RSS contest, the man that writes ramdom shit, and the man that makes over $30,000 a month in online income. What we do not know that his success is the thing that is teaching the viewers. Almost all of John’s viewers do not realize the concept that John is actually trying to do himself.

How Does John Teach?

About 3 weeks ago, I had a pretty interesting chat with Garry Conn and he mentioned to me that John Chow does teach his viewers how to make money online. Mr. Chow does publish random useless articles, but the point of his blog is to expose his success through blogging. The way John Chow is making money is teaching us how to follow in his footsteps by doing what he does. He publish posts on his successes, but on his success posts, he mentions where he made the money. What we don’t know is that we should be learning from what he is doing. His frequent blog posts, his marketing techniques, etc. All those count in for teaching you how to make money online.

The Interview That Says It All

It is actually very cool that in John Chow’s about page, he mentions that he was a Ultimate Fighter Championship contestant and a member of the Save The Whale Foundation, but it is very hilarious that nothing on his about page is a fact. In the interview he did conducted by Max from Sitehoppin, he mentions all this and how it is just a hoax that many started to believe. I guess John is really evil because he never mentioned this to anyone including the review I did for him back in November. Watch the video below and you’ll know what I mean

I sure hope you guys are taking notes from the video. John mentioned a lot of his strategies and tips that I haven’t really seen being mentioned on his blog. I guess networking really is important if you wish to grow, so I may actually attend one of these shows one day with my wife. Hopefully I will see you guys there :-P

Take In Bad Press

john chow bad pressThere are thousands of bloggers that hate the name John Chow. The main reason for the hate is most likely because of John’s success and his $30,000 a month income for doing absolutely nothing but rambling. It does not affect John one bit no matter how much hate articles are being published through the thousands and thousands of blogs that are in the blogosphere. Yes, that’s correct, Mr. Chow knows when you talk shit about him. He’ll probably read your post, but just leave you alone after.

Although there are soooo many posts bashing John, it doesn’t seem to affect him one bit. He’s very smart to put all his emotions aside because bad press is what is bringing him even more subscribers and visitors. Bad press anywhere usually attracts the viewer in seeing it for themselves. When a new viewer sees how big John’s blog is, the reaction would probably be to subscribe to the feed and continue reading. It is +1 for John and +0 for you if you wish to give bad press to him.

A Great Man

john chow rocksJohn Chow really is a great man or should I say, a “MONEY MAKING” God. There’s just a thing about him that I can finally see. Besides being a great blogger, he is also a great father and husband. Just by browsing through Sally Chow’s (John’s daughter) blog, I could see how much John loves his family. I know realize why sometimes we don’t see much of his appearance of his blog and that is probably because he’s out with family. In my past article, :Is Spending Time Blogging”, Too Much Time, I do mention that family should always come first. All these months, I have really mistaken John for being a greedy bastard, while he is actually hiding his true self.

Here’s a very cute video of John having fun with his daughter, Sally. I just think it is absolutely shocking to realize that I was wrong all along about John. He’s like a Superman without all the powers :-D

Lastly, this was NOT a paid post or anything like that. Although Mr. Chow is evil and could possibly pay bloggers to put in a good word for him, I highly doubt that he would do it for real.

Well, John does pick the best of the best restaurants, but I personally think he should start eating at home more…

I’d love it if someday I were successful enough to attract a bunch of “haters”
That’s be a dream come true.
For now, I’m just very much loved by Google and that is also very satisfying.

Great article.

I realised as I read it that I have a conflict of sorts, you see, because I greatly admire John Chow the man but dislike some very specific aspects of John Chow the blog, namely the potential damage to someone new who gets in over their head, mortgages the house, ignores the wife and kids etc (see, the blogs fault, not the mans!)

So when I hear “I love John Chow” or “I hate John Chow” … to me it depends on which your talking about. The man or the blog… maybe using your personal name on a blog has some knocks afterall :p

Lol, I guess you’re right haha. A man could be great, but the blog could suck! :P

I have never hated John Chow but I have also never read his blog for longer than a few seconds.

From the odd video or comment I have seen from him he seems like a very nice guy. Even if I hated his blog and thought his blog was evil it would not mean that I would think he was evil!

He was one of the first to see an opening for earnings in the blogging world and he took it by the bulls horns… respect for that.

I think we all wish we can become John Chow, but we wouldn’t be unique if we think that way. Each of us has to work from scratch and come up with something different. Bloggers have been saying that the “MMO” niche is starting to die out because EVERYONE wants to make money…

-Mike

p.s. That’s a hint to change to a different niche :P

My thoughts are a little different. I am working on multiple niches at the same time.

As far as the MMO I expect to continue but I do need to focus on my Advertising and Strategic Planning background.

Also I don’t want to become John Chow but, I am trying to learn from his example.

I don’t think most people think he’s evil he is just fun to pick on. We have to give credit where credit is do he has changed the way a high % of bloggers and web owners make money.

John Chow’s blog was one of the first MMO blogs that I ever read. And no matter how many people portrayed him the villain, I should confess that he had been a very inspirational character throughout.

The last chapter in his “Make Money Online” e-book, speaks of how he started off and so forth. And for any blogger reading that, it will be enough motivation to confess that you indeed can go from rags to riches by blogging for money.

I admit I never read eBooks because I think they’re all bologna. I believe what can be found in an eBook can be found anywhere on Google.

John Chow is not bad nor should he be treated like a devil disguised as an online money-maker. I don’t even think his posts are extraordinary.

I think the man is just working hard and is now reaping the fruits of his hard work. I’m subscribed to his, and yours, too.

Not a fan and have read many of his blogs and I don’t get it. Was he first or did he invent blogging. Again I am not a fan of John Ch*w.

His about page starts with fake stuffs and he admits it in the last para. I knew about this when I first visited his blog many years ago. Seems like you just knew lots of stuff about him recently.

It’s his life, let him brag about whatever he likes, why should we bother, don’t you think so, Mike??

I don’t really care about these so-called A-List bloggers. They are more marketer, less blogger. Whatever, he doesn’t tell people all the core stuffs he knows.

He does not teach you the real strategy. He lures you with his “successes” as you call it.

//”teaching us how to follow in his footsteps by doing what he does”
Then we should be blogging about shits?
The biggest point again is that the footsteps are not the real strategy he uses..
Else, every fans/apprentice of Chow would have been like him in just 1 year of blogging!

Don’t make sense to you? Or is it that Chow’s success has blurred your senses? :P

Anyway, Chow is a real money maker! This is undeniable.. he has many good tricks and tactics..

You’d think if John had really read any of our blogs he would have at least had the courtesy of a tiny comment. I wonder if he only reads his own. I will not take away from him how smart he is.
