Technorati has come a long way since this first began and I gotta say they came out with a heck of an idea when they decided to use it for blog ranking. Besides the ranking, their service is mainly used for “blog reactions”, which connects comments or links through blogs. This creates an index for a user to realize where their blog link is being posted. They have moved up their ranking on the net by tracking over 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media. According to Technorati’s data, there are over 175,000 new blogs each day with over 1.6 million posts a day. Summing that up, you can basically see how the blogosphere is kicking the ass of all the other web competitors.
I recently did a review of Prija’s most recent idea, Blogging The Movie, and I realized that he came up with an very interesting idea on his old blog, Cash For Comments. What he came up with not only boosted his own rank, but allowed others to share the same opportunity by forming a line.
The name of this great idea is the “FaveMe Up Trainstation“. It is basically a way to gain a huge readership and network on your blog. Some of us may be wanting to rank in the 10,000s of Alexa or Top 100 of 45n5, but there are also some that wishes to rank in the higher 10,000 region of Technorati. Whatever it is, ranking high on something usually gives a person a good feeling.
The basic idea of this Trainstation is to have people come to fave the last 5-10 commentators. This allows everyone to receive equal publicity to their blogs and receive Technorati authority.
