It’s amazing how expensive rugs can be. Something people walk all over, treaded on daily by feet and shoes alike, but ultimately being able to tie a room design together, or add color to an otherwise monochromatic coloring in the room. The versatility is endless, the sizes, shapes, and colors are just as diverse.
Superior Rugs appears to be the equivalent of an online outlet store for all of your rug needs. I love rugs, I have like four of them in my home. Navigation on this site is quite intuitive, especially when you are looking for discount deals. I especially like their immediate highlight of the rugs they offer on Clearance with up to 80% off. The links at the top help further support the site once you’ve wondered in.
This site is especially tailored towards making it easy for shoppers to purchase a rug. Aesthetics aside, I just want to find what I’m looking for and find the price. This is where Superior Rugs is at its best. It’s easy to see the rug photos, sizes and pricing. You click on the image and you’re taken to a larger photo where detail is more evident and more info is provided for the potential buyer. One attribute that should be included is the option that most stores offer, the ability to rank the pricing from “low to high”, “high to low”, all of which would help the buyer on a fixed budget.
Looking over some of the rugs they offer, I don’t doubt they offer high quality rugs, and with their Clearance section, I’d be surprised that someone in the market for rugs would not find something they like there. I was surprised to see that they have announcements via email which is a nice touch to stay in touch with the customer. Might be an excellent way to directly send specials to regular customers who have purchased from them in the past.
One big suggestion I’d like to make is perhaps offering a space where customers can leave feedback. As an online buyer myself, I tend to favor the “word of mouth” arena in terms of level of satisfaction and service. Just a thought, but a good way to keep the customers involved.
In addition, I would breathe some creative juice into the site to get the Site visitors excited about buying rugs. The idea here is to keep their attention span just long enough to stay focus on your best selling items. The worst thing that you can do to your site is to make it appear as if it was hastily designed with little or no creative thought put into the process – like a template that either was purchased and put together quickly, or a shopping cart program that required the site to look a certain away after the plug and play method was attributed.
A good sales landing page should catch the attention of the visitor and have a clear call to action message, therefore being intensively wordy would turned off a potential purchaser. That being said, I would collapse the history of the company that is on the front page into a link. Everything below the halfway point is too wordy. I like how I am given easily identifiable colored buttons that detail just exactly where I will be going when I click on them.
Overall, I found the site to be easily navigatable especially if you are a shopper looking for discount deals. And they do have some really good deals going on all the time.
