I’m not sure how many of you have been to Vegas, but with recent Blog conventions at Vegas, many of you got to see it for the first time. There is a great saying that is said by people that visit Vegas and it is “Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” It’s basically a place where you can supposedly “sin” and run away with it. Of course I don’t mean literally kill someone, but I mean gambling. Located in Nevada, Las Vegas is the only place you’ll see for hundreds of miles. That is why they say whatever happens there, stays there.
Recently I was watching the news like usual (that is where I get my ramblings) and I was shocked that the famous Caesars Palace, located on the strip, has raised their stakes for a game of Blackjack. Before I get into the details of the new stakes, I’m going to get you guys familiar with this hotel.

Caesars Palace is across the street of Harrah’s Flamingo Hotel (owns Caesars Palace), which held another recent recent party for bloggers, and between Bellagio and Mirage. Visitors mostly know this hotel as the Greek hotel because of the Greek sculptures inside, but that is not the only thing that attracts visitors. Inside the back of this hotel is a massive shopping area that includes high-end shops like Bvlgari, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci. It is also a stop for great dining and I’m sure you’ve checked out John Chow’s dinner treat to some lucky bloggers at Benihana.
Now back to discussing Caesar Palace’s “risk it all” Blackjack bet limits. On December 10, 2007, the casino will allow players to bet up to $50,000 per hand at a game of Blackjack. Aparently, a few grand wasn’t enough, so the limit went from $10,000 to $50,000 to satisfy gamblers. As said by many news sites including the owner, Harrah’s, this is the highest limit of all the hotels in Vegas.
“C.P. has always been the favorite home of high rollers and we’ve had a lot of customer demand for higher limits,” Jimmy Wike, vice president of table games, said. “So, we’re giving them what they want.”
It seems like high rollers now have what they asked for, but how many gamblers will actually drop $50,000 smackers on one hand? With that much money, most of us average people could purchase a small home in certain areas of the country. Not to mention, all the food, clothing, and jewelry you could purchase for Christmas gifts.
It seems like these posts about Vegas are never going to stop…first luxury accommodation and now high “risk it all” stakes. I guess that’s why they call it Vegas, but I wonder which one of you bloggers would risk it all on a one hand game?
It also seems like I forgot to keep my promise yet again for the latest Contest, so i’ll be posting that later on today. I do apologize, but it has been a hectic week for classes.
