. If you’re a blogger, have you ever thought about why you started blogging? I’ve actually put in quite some thought myself at why I started this blog in the first place. Of course I won’t tell you guys why, but you guys can talk amongst yourselves about it 
. You also don’t have to be a blogger to read this post because this post may even turn you into a self made blogger.
Below is a list of my own top 10 reasons to blog. The list is completely on my own opinion and I do understand that some of you guys may think different, so don’t bash me on this. Hopefully the list will allow you guys to think about blogging or why you blog.
1. Bored - Boredom tends to take the best out of us. If you’re a young person, you probably play games when you’re bored. I love playing games no matter if it’s on PC or gaming consoles. The funny thing is my wife and I are totally different. I tend to reach my end point of gaming when I can’t beat certain levels. My wife usually continues to play a game 3-4 times and also reaches her end point. At this point, we’re bored again and that is why we started blogging. I admit that blogging is also boring, but the communication from the community keeps me quite busy
2. See others doing it - Have you heard of the saying, “monkey see, monkey do” ?. This is exactly what I mean. No matter what you’re trying to do, you’re still human, so if you see others blogging, you may think you’re missing out. If this is why you started blogging, there’s absolutely nothing wrong because blogging is the thing now.
3. Want to make money - If there more to say about this?
4. No more 9 to 5 - If you’re working a full time job or have previously worked at one, you would probably know how much it sucked to wake up at around 7-9 to get ready for work and come home and around 5-7. There are some of you graveyard shifters out there, but you’re still working that 8 hour shift at a full time job. Just knowing that you’re waking up and going to a place where you have to work for income is just something that no one including me would ever want for the rest of our lives. It’s like hell, but something that all average humans depend on. Blogging have allowed people to stay at home, work anytime, wake up anytime, and not worry about commuting to work or anything that happens at work.
5. Be your own boss - If you start your own blog, you’re basically your own boss. This would usually mean that you would need to make money from blogging, but there are some that just do it for joy. Being your own boss practically means that you would not receive all those nasty remarks from your boss. You won’t have to worry about doing a bad job that would get you fried.
6. Promote a business - Some bloggers already own online/offline businesses and starting a blog is to promote the business itself. Since blogging is just like the new Internet, clients and leads could read your business blog for new updates, promotions, and anything you wish to discuss about. An online business usually has a static page for leads, so a blog would surely change things a bit.
7. Fame / Popularity - There are a lot of fame and popularity to be taken out of the blogosphere. I’ve noticed that some bloggers receive instant fame and popularity within a few weeks or months. This would usually make you feel a bit more accomplished in life and you would get known a lot more.
8. Prove others wrong - If you’re someone that receives a lot of shit from your fellow peers, then blogging may be a way to prove them wrong. I am personally one of those that gets talked about all the time because I simply don’t talk back. Whenever I wanted to do something, my friends and family would state that I would fail. Blogging has actually allowed me to prove a lot of my friends and family wrong. They see that I’m slowly gaining success, which is exactly what I would like to do.
9. Network with others - Networking allows anyone to meet new people. Starting a blog usually receives some attention from other bloggers, entrepreneurs, money makers, etc. When that happens, which I know it will, networking and communicating with them would allow you guys to be friends and learn from each other. You would learn a lot more than if you had no friends
10. Money making - I mention this again because money making seems to be everyone’s favorite these days. No matter if you wish to earn extra income or start making money, blogging seems like the way to do it these days. To me, every other new blog is about making money or trying to make money online. I may personally dislike money making bloggers, but everyone needs to make money somehow, so there’s nothing wrong.
Now that I completed my own top 10 reasons on why a person blogs, do you think that I may be write about these points? Like I said in the beginning, don’t bash me for this, but I did some careful thinking about the reasons and came out with the top 10.

Well,I am never bored to that extent.I have a lot of activities to do..I play sports(outdoor) very well.So,there’s no such thing as ‘boring’!!.

Yup..seriously,I wanna make money
As you know,I’m still a student and I only see blogging as a means to supplement my income once I join a job next year.I’ll never give blogging a chance to replace my 9-5 or whatever.And to make things clear,I am trying to work with “Google”….so I don’t think anyone would drop that chance!!.
Besides money making,one of the main reasons I have been into blogging is beacuse there’s a lot of scope for Fame & networking.I am always ready to help new bloggers,giving them advice about blogging,SEO etc., and this attitude helped me gain quite a lot of followers…;)

It is good to see your top10 and yes taking money out of the first position gives you lot of enthusiasm and option to experiment!!.Blogging with money in mind never helps us!!.

I started mine because i wanted a uni-directional method of communicating with family and friends back home when i moved to Australia. Writting a massive group email results in too many, bounced address, reply alls, responses required from me etc …. even though the blog now generates a few comments they are far fewer than if i sent an email. Having said all that, the blog has now allowed me and inspired me to do so much more and write about / do things in Japan i never would have done if i’d just sent the odd email back.

I started blogging after listening to a friend talking about how he enjoyed getting to read what people have written and how he enjoyed writing for people to read in return. From there I registered mine and not long after that I was addicted…
In fact I have learned quite a lot of things that I would not have learned from those mainstream medias juts from reading blogs… the only thing is to separate between facts and fictions…
So, I guess, the best way to describe why I blog is that I am doing in for the fun of it and to get to know what’s going on at other people’s places and in other people’s head…

people have a variety of reasons as to why they blog. you are right about the make money thing. there are a number of blogs with that kind of them and I have one of my own too (I have been concentrating on my other ones more though). blogging has been a way through which I have been able to network with a lot of people and gain a lot of information in so many different areas as well.
