Who Just Popped Out?

blog popped

There are a lot of successful entrepreneurs around the world, so keeping up with them is a pretty difficult task to do. Lets just say that when I started blogging with my wife in November, all I knew about was John Chow, Shoemoney, and Darren Rowse, but as time passed, I realized there were much more successful entrepreneurs out in the world that are unheard of. When I say entrepreneur, it also means a blogger since successful bloggers could pretty much be considered as entrepreneur. I mention this because entrepreneurs work for themselves and most successful bloggers also work for themselves :-)
So now that I kinda gave you a rough surface of what I’m going to discuss, lets talk about how these entrepreneurs just pop out of no where. I stated that there are way too many entrepreneurs in the world and it is pretty difficult to keep track of them. Since most of them are blog owners, the easiest way for us to meet one of those successful entrepreneurs is to look through the blogosphere.

The usual way to know if the blog you arrive at is owned by a professional entrepreneur is pretty simple at first glimpse. The main things that any visitor usually looks for in a blog is uniqueness, layout, design, and a well written about page. If you’re a more advanced blog reader, you would probably look at the RSS feed count and comments per post. I don’t mention the Alexa rank because newer entrepreneurs that turn into bloggers don’t neccessarily jump the ranks that quick.

There’s only one way to jump the ranks high and that is to…well, lie. As you see, many bloggers are lying these days and acting like someone their not. Since most people that wants to become an entrepreneur look up to successful entrepreneurs, fakes pop out just like that. There are a few that just don’t make the cut when lying because it all shows through the blog and the content provided. But the rest of the fakes are doing a very good job at pretending to be someone their not.

Lets take an example. If you checkout a new blog that focuses on Internet Marketing and the blog has a few thousand subscribers, the first reaction would be, I’m going to follow this guy or gal. The natural reaction is for a new blogger to follow someone successful to learn a few things or two. What probably caught you was the about page and the layout of the blog, but the owner probably knows jack about Internet Marketing.

Just note that there are these types of liars out there. These fakers pop out by marketing themselves a whole lot in the beginning to make it seem like it’s a usual thing. It’s funny how sometimes I see guest posts or reviews on blogs like John Cow or ProBlogger, but when I click on the author’s link to visit the blog, I see that the author has a very professionally done blog. It meets all the requirements of having all the readers and all the great content, but this is exactly how some of us get tricked into sites like these. We tend to read blogs and love the blog owner just because the blog is big.

How should you check if the entrepreneur turned blogger is a fake? There are a few simple steps to do if you want to see if the person is a fake.

  • blog backgroundCheck the blog theme - all professional entrepreneurs have a well kept and clean design and layout. There are a few with exceptions, but most of the designs I have seen are unique and different from others.
  • Background check - do a background check on the person’s name through Google. Google is your friend here because they’re great for finding a lot of great information on a certain someone :-)

Blogging is a great way to get known these days and the money source is still full of money waiting to be taken by new entrepreneurs, affiliate marketers, and plain bloggers. If you jump onto a new blog that is owned supposedly by a professional entrepreneur, you may be tricked into the fraudulent blog. They’re making a lot of money and doing it correctly so we can’t find out. We’re being tricked into believing they’re really someone :-(
Do you know of any blogger that just…popped out?

You said correct about Alexa, it does not burst up very easily, but anyways can be faked as well.

I kinda forgot to really differentiate bloggers from entrepreneurs as every blogger who is good at their field act like entrepreneurs.. But really, i love reading the about pages of the successful people.. As they read an inspiring story in there.

Personally i read an article for what it is,a good article.
If i gain something new from a site, then i will return to read more.In every aspect of life there must be fake people if not how then can we know and appreciate the real ones? I am new and don’t bother with alexa rankings well! maybe because i don’t understand what or how it works yet.

I have noticed that often the conventional indicators of popularity and legitimacy do not seem to sync up with reality on some of the blogs I visit. Part of me is curious, on an intellectual level, how such manipulation is achieved, but more than anything I resent the effort put forth in manipulation and deception that could have been applied toward creating a legitimate venture of value for the owner AND the users.

I really think that Internet is opened for everyone…everyone can be entrepreneur but not everyone is successful…mostly, people are tricked by the so-called Internet Marketing…once you believe the content of the blog or website, you are hooked..so, checking out them is the best weapon we have…totally agree with you..

Nowadays every new blog is all Hype. Everyone is now opting for the MMO niche and forgetting about other profitable niches.

For me it is pretty simple. I either like the articles and opinion of the blog, or I don’t. If I don’t I wont be back, and that includes some of the so called “big name” bloggers you mentioned. Most of them are not posting anything original or anything new info anymore. They just pop in to keep the readers coming back to view their ads and click their links. I really believe that the Make Money Online blog days are coming to an end.
Sure some will survive - LIKE THIS ONE. That will be because this one still connects with people on a personal level that they can relate to in their own lives.
I am a little grumpy tonight with the state of our world and politics so I apologize in advance for the tone. Keep up the good work Mike!

I always like to see if they have proof other projects they’ve worked on previously to making a site about themselves “making money by blogging”

I agree with what Political Disgust said, the impersonal way alot of these bloggers come across turns me off but i do think it will always wind up biting them in the end.

You can basically tell right away, who is going to stick around & who won’t. Who really has something to say & who dosen’t. Because It’s not easy to genuinely relate to people, either you have it or you don’t.

You say they are some frauds over there in Web but so far I haven’t met any…..

Personally, when it comes to subscribing to a blog,I subscribe to big blogs after checking out their content and about page.If content is great,I would definitely go with a subscription. For new blogs,I wouldn’t check for great content or a well written about page but go on with my subscription to help him out,if he seems promising !!.

And what you said was right…..once any blog gets any following then suddenly you see a rise in their subscriber count…This is just because people want to follow these likely successful guys/gals no matter what they are actually writing about!!.

One great example for this is Chow….he’s a good man though…I just talk about his content!!.
