By now I’m sure most of you understand what a rambling post is, but if you still don’t know what it is, it means you haven’t been around the blogosphere long enough. Come on, some big names out there like John Chow and Jeremy Schoemaker rambles for a living, but get paid over $20,000 for such idiotic posts. Of course not all the posts are idiotic, but that is what rambling usually means. My blog here is also built purely on rambling, but with a side of free blog reviews. Come to think of it, I don’t even know why I tend to ramble and publish it in posts. If you take a look at other blogs, there are always some sort of rambling going on. Because this is just a huge topic, this is actually my second published post on “ramblings”. Why is it that rambling posts are going to be such a huge hit in the future? or should I say, it has already become a hit?
Why ramble?
Start venting your thoughts and people will enjoy what you publish on your blog. All of us hold feelings or thoughts in ourselves and blogs are here to allow us to vent, or should I say ramble. If you do it correctly, the return is very high and you will enjoy all the rewards. If you do it wrong, you will lose a little and can still continue your work. Rambling can’t be done by everyone, but at the same time, there is no wrong way of doing it.
What can rambling do?
- Pros
The pros of publishing rambling posts vary on what your topic/niche is on your blog. NOT! Rambling doesn’t need a topic because this is the time where you are allowed to post about anything. Sometimes if you feel there are too many of the same posts in the blogosphere, you could post a rambling. What the rambling post does is attract the reader with something different and something other than blogging. For example, my blog was started mainly to do blog reviews, but upon thinking more into the idea, I decided that blog reviews would probably be too boring for you guys. Take a look at BlogsReview.net because the owner of that blog also had problems dealing with blog reviews. Of course my wife and I was lucky to be successful in providing free blog reviews, but we add in the touch of ramblings to bring in more traffic. We find ANYTHING on the Internet or in the world that seems interesting to us and we bring it to readers. Not only have we boosted up RSS subscribers, but we have also built a platform for our blog, which brings us the needed amount of readers per day. Below are 2 examples of my rambling posts that received a huge amount of traffic:
- Cons
When there are PROS, there are always CONS. You can think of this as if you ever post something you and all your readers think is interesting, there will also be naysayers screwing things up. The thing about ramblings is that some readers might think you’re going off-topic from their daily reading, which results in a -1 on your readers count. This doesn’t always happen, but readers are always right and they’re the ones that choose to do whatever they want. As long as you make sure your rambling has some sort of interest or value, you are sure to receive your minimum amount of traffic or more. Here’s 2 examples of some of my rambling posts that isn’t quite up there:
Why will rambling posts be a hit?
Ramblings will always be a hit because whether you like it or not, the top bloggers around the blogosphere do this. Just take a look at a few posts here, here, here, and here (yes, I’m not with all the “here(s)”). You may even build a blog and start with rambling posts in the beginning, but receive the necessary amount of viewers. Most of you can tell that blogs are popping up all over in 30x the amount of blogs that were online just about half a year ago. I do agree most of this is due to Entrecard and Sitehoppin’, but the numbers are just amazing. As long as you keep the readers’ interest, you will succeed.
The future of rambling
The future of publishing rambling posts is just a beginning. Sooner or later everyone is going to jump on the boat and try to make some money by typing many different off-topic posts. This all began with John Chow and it’s moving fast. If Mr. Chow could make over $30,000 a month for typing absolutely nonsense, you could too. Just make sure you get in early, before it’s too late. There are many different techniques for going at it, but I’m going to let you guys decide what is right for you.

Hey I was wondering about the contest that you held a while back. I have not received an email or anything telling me who I need to mail the book to. I think the group I was in was group 7.

I’ll be back!
If this is true, than my site will be massive. That’s all I seem to do.

Uh oh, I haven’t done any rambling posts yet on my blog!! Maybe I could ramble about why I haven’t rambled?
Ramblings hmmm… I have to say you are right on this one. The most popular blogger where I’m at rambles nonsense on her blog and she’s a queen…

@cyberfizzle - I’m still trying to contact some of the winners, but I guess I might have to use the prizes again in a future contest

@Binh - Thanks for keeping up with the posts
@Cuteek - Ramblings are always good, but sometimes you need to focus on the correct posts too
@sir jorge - Of course I left out some key points of “marketing” your blog, but I felt that wasn’t necessary as you choose what you want to do.
@Jonathon - That would definitely be a great post!
You can argue with mine
@Fendi - Yea, look at John Chow..
@Shanker - :)!
That’s cool Mike, just send me an email when you get a winner, and I’ll mail it.

hm…you got your points there. Viewers like most of us do like to read something different, new & interesting from other bloggers, otherwise it’ll become the situation where 1 stone kills not 2 or 3 but thousands of birds. Who is the killer? Of course the answer is “John Chow” lol
