I’m sorry guys about not publishing a post yesterday and posting one so late today. I’m just pretty much burned out and there’s just too much going on in my personal life right now. My wife recently got a new job and because I worry too much about her commuting, I have to wake up at 7AM to drive her. Not to mention yesterday and today, I had to sit in my car to wait for about 5-8 hours with nothing to do except play on my Nintendo DS. It’s just horrible when you’re so used to using the computer to blog, but the next day you’re sitting in your car with practically nothing to do.
It very does suck when a blogger can’t work on his/her blog and that is exactly what happened to me. I was sitting and waiting until I can get home on my computer to type up a post. The only problem after reaching home was that I was way too tired to type something up. I was sitting in front of the computer with my hands and arms falling asleep. It was horrible I tell ya!
Enough about me, I’m sure you want to read my posts rather than my personal problems 
. Well, this is the best part of this this particular post. I have based my personal problem on this post to discuss how bloggers tend to blame something or someone else other than themselves when there is no time to blog.
There are tons of blog owners that have personal problems that causes them to miss a bit of blogging. It’s only human to have these problems because if you don’t, you’re just one very lucky blogger 
. I’m sure as a blogger, you’ve encountered one of these problems and was forced to publish a post or two with a rough description of what was happening. If you haven’t had one of these problems, I’m sure you’ve seen bloggers like John Cow (the moo moo one), Caroline Middlebrook, and Tyler Cruz just miss a bit of blogging.
Instead of blaming others for not keeping up with the blogging business, those bloggers blamed themselves for the inconvenience. I certainly can’t see how bloggers could go on blaming others or other things rather than themselves when a blog post isn’t published. There are many different ways to prevent yourself, the blog owner, from missing a day of publishing a post.
- Plan Early - Although there are life emergencies that just pop up, you should be able to plan things ahead of time. Planning early for anything in life usually relieves a lot of stress.
- Pre-Write / Ideas - If you write short posts like what I have been doing lately, it would be very smart to pre-write newer posts. A post like mine shouldn’t take more than an hour to do, but if you do a lot of research, it may take much longer. If you can’t seem to pre-write anything, it probably means you don’t have any new ideas. When you’re not blogging, you may take some time off to jot down new ideas.
- Schedule In - As soon as you wrap up these posts, Wordpress has a nifty feature that allows you to schedule your posts to publish a different day or time. You could write a whole week’s worth of posts in one day and schedule it throughout the week.
- Community - Lastly, if all those fail, you should seek out friends through the community. Even if you’re a new blogger with a brand new blog, I’m positive that a few of your readers and subscribers would love to help you out by submitting a guest post. This is why networking and building high friend counts on social networks does matter.
Now the next time you don’t post on your blog, you should think about it being your own fault rather than playing the blame game. No one’s going to hurt you if you blame yourself because it’s completely understandable when you’re being honest Take a look at this post. I basically based it on my own problem, but it resulted in a post that can be a lesson to a lot of you.

I don’t think of it as a matter of blame. You have to live your life, or else what do you have to blog about? And my material is much faster if I blog live. I’d have to go with Maki’s school of thought on this one. (doshdosh.com) But I do appreciate your point.

Mike, You have just reinforced my decision to buy and iPhone when they hit the shores of Japan. Currently I use a UMPC, Sony Vaio UX50 to keep in touch when away from my home PC’s , But I am sure with an iPhone I would be able to at least get a reasonable post out when away from the (home) office

I remember reading a post on Johnchow about the “Schedule In” Post where he said its like a vacation for a blogger. Even shoemoney has said in his posts that he’s done it quite a fair number of times.
We are going away in a week and let me tell you was it a lot of work to get 3 blogs set up to auto post themselves for 10 days!! I never thought I was going to be able to read that much!

Thanks for the tips. I am also a lazy blogger. I usually “PLAN” to write a blog in the morning but due to the busy day, I end up not writing anything since I would be too tired to think that I would rather sleep. hehehehe…
Hmmmm I also believe that personal things that happen in hour lives would really affect our life as a blogger. But well just keep motivated and keep going…

I definitely agree! There are times you just don’t know what to write about or either you are caught up in your own personal problems. i used to think blogging about your personal negative experiences is a bit off especially so if you are tryint to limit to your blog’s niche. At least now I know it’s only human to blog about those blues.
Motivation is very strong for every blogger in the beginning when they just get inspired from the bigges…but then it justs starts to fade away…..
If there’s any problem you couldn’t blog,then it should definitely be a personal fault!.
Problems live with everyone..but it’s important how we face them!.
Blogging isn’t just about posts but also giving a character to your blog!.If there is a blame on somebody for a disturbance in your posting,then you deprive your blog from getting a good character!!.

@ Mike…hehehe yeah motivation is really really difficult. And I just noticed that the last post in my blog was still in May and its June now. At least you could post everyday so just keep going bro…hehehe just be positive. I agree with you. especially when you are a student, blogging would really be compromised. I got same problem. Actually school will start next week so I don’t know how to continue my life as a blogger since this would be my first time to go to school as a blogger. I just started blogging during the summer break. Anyway I hope I could be good in both blogging and studying. hehehe

Dont’cha have a laptop? Or is there no Wi-Fi everywhere like here? We’re pretty fortunate and so my laptop goes everywhere. Just like an author with pen, sometimes in the middle of the night, inspiration comes. Of course, he would have a fit if I slept with my Mac. silly, whiney man.
Well, I have a desktop PC too. I’ve been longing for a laptop for a long time. Maybe I just Might win that Macbook air that Mike’s Holdin out. Boy…Would that boost up my Motivation!

Yeah I’m kinda unfortunate that I don’t have a laptop and well there are some wi-fi spots in my country but its still rare and not really everywhere. Well those things are big hindrances in my life as a blogger and I really can’t do anything about that since its beyond my control due to the fact that I am not yet earning for myself. huhuhu…anyway I am still being optimistic with things…
